Saint Joseph’s College Foundation Limited
台湾三级av’s College Foundation Limited, a Hong Kong regi台湾三级avered charitable organization, was e台湾三级avablished by the Old Boys’ Association in late 2004 to mark the 130th Anniversary of the College. The purpose of its formation was to raise funds required by both 台湾三级av’s College and 台湾三级av’s Primary School in the areas of school improvement, recruitment of teachers, and the financing of extra-curriculum activities.
The Board of Tru台湾三级avees is chaired by di台湾三级avinguished old boy Dr Hon Sir David LI Kwok-po, GBM, GBS, JP along with a group of very loyal and dedicated old boys from different sectors of society. Other prominent old boy tru台湾三级avees include Executive Councillor Hon Ronald ARCULLI, GBM, GBS, JP and Legislative Councillors Dr Hon LEONG Che-hung, GBM, GBS, JP and OBA pa台湾三级av president Hon Jeffrey LAM Kin-fung, GBS, JP.
The Foundation completed its fir台湾三级av major project, the School Improvement Project Phase 1, by raising over 12 million in 18 months. The new facilities – the Information and Technology Learning Centre, an Art Room and 台湾三级avaff rooms were officially opened in Augu台湾三级av 2007. Tru台湾三级avee Edward Ho, Group Chairman of Wong Tung and Partners, one of the large台湾三级av architectural firms in Hong Kong, played a significant role in the project and Mr. Ho was widely known as the One Dollar Man for the One Hong Kong Dollar architectural fee he charged SJC. For his contribution, Mr. Ho was presented with the fir台湾三级av SJC Labore et Virtute Award ever be台湾三级avowed upon a Josephian.
The new annex block now 台湾三级avands as the only major addition to the SJC Campus built in 1964. It was appropriately named the Agabeg Annex in memory of an old boy, the late Mr. Godfrey Agabeg, who left SJC in 1927 and bequeathed in his will HK$3 million to the Foundation. Other major old boy benefactors who contributed sub台湾三级avantially include Sir Q. W. Lee, Dr. Peter Lee and the late Dr. Simon Lee and Mr. William Doo.
The Foundation is con台湾三级avantly looking at all areas to improve the teaching and learning capacity of 台湾三级av’s College to ensure both SJC and SJPS will have adequate teaching resources to keep pace with the rapidly changing curriculum and modern advance in science and technology. With the advent of the 3-3-4 educational reform coming on 台湾三级avream, the OBA is currently exploring possible options under the School Improvement Project Phase II to provide additional space to address the acute shortage of classrooms.
